Helen Dooley, Director of More Travel, describes the magic of the Sani Resort in Greece

Could it be more luxurious?

The really rather fabulous Sani Resort has an enviable reputation for being one of Europe’s most luxurious hotels, having been awarded World’s Leading Family and Beach Resort for five consecutive years at the World Travel Awards. But what makes this stunner the focus for so much of our attention and the destination of choice for well-heeled families from the UK and across Europe?

For starters, its location is enviable – just 45 minutes from well-served Thessaloniki, the Kassandra peninsula in Halkidiki is nestled in a peaceful 1,000-acre reserve and brings together wetlands, forests, a marina and five hotels – each offering its own distinct personality. Being that few further hours north of the islands brings a bit of a calmer climate.

It’s got 7 (yes 7!) kilometres of blue flag beach, fringed by a lovely, gently shelving sandy beach. It’s pumped full of activities, sports academies, childcare facilities and world-class dining with 27 restaurants. The hotels follow the line of the beach and cooperatively share all of the facilities and restaurants, plus the glittering marina with its shops, bars and restaurants.

The hotels themselves each have their own unique ambience, and they all offer stylish contemporary rooms with choices of private terraces, balconies, private gardens and private, heated swimming pools. Room combinations have been well considered to accommodate families of all shapes and sizes. To keep active children and teens entertained, the resort offers a Rafa Nadal Tennis Centre, Bear Grylls Survival Academy (sounds like so much fun!) and a Chelsea Foundation Football Academy. They also have their own Marina Sailing Academy, offering a 10-hour intensive course to 6- to 17-year olds wanting to learn the joys of sailing.

Each camp offers the opportunity to learn and play with the experienced coaches and instructors, who will provide youngsters with all technical knowledge, as well as a sense of hard work and team play.

For those wanting elevated luxury, the Sani Suite Collection guests also benefit from extras including a personal concierge, packing and unpacking service, express check in and late check out, pillow menus and upgraded Anne Semonin toiletries.

At More Travel, we would say that a holiday at Sani is a unique experience that keeps guests coming back year after year. It offers a perfect blend of exceptional service, space and seclusion, first-class facilities, activities for all the family and accommodation that combines contemporary style and comfort.

We’d also like to say that the resort works beautifully for couples who want to experience the luxury of Sani and all it has to offer.  The resort is open April to October, so school breaks are easily avoided. April, May or September or October are our favourite months to be in Greece.

More Travel are Sani Ambassador Club Members, an elite group of agents handpicked by Sani. As well as additional training and resources made available to us, there are also some benefits for our customers, including complimentary airport transfers on Sani Suite Collection bookings, VIP amenities in the room, early check in and late check out, subject to availability.
