Burghley Park is a brilliant place to walk in the winter months, with its hard surfaces and tranquil atmosphere. In this picture, Burghley House looks almost oriental through the mist. Although the house is closed until the spring, many of you may have seen it recently as the set for Windsor Castle in The Crown. Location Manager Mark Walledge commented: ‘The interior frescos at Burghley were actually painted by the same artist (Antonio Verrio) as those at Windsor, and once Martin Childs (the Production Director) visited, he loved the house. It soon became everybody’s new favourite location!’
